My name is Alison and I am a native English-speaker from Ireland. I have over four years experience teaching English classes to individuals or small groups.

Last year I was a full time teacher in a language academy in Madrid, where I was responsible for teaching 1:1 classes, group classes, intensive classes, exam preparation classes and business English. This required me to adapt my approach based on the needs of students, and also to ensure classes were engaging and interesting. I later worked as an Assistant teacher in a British school, where I taught English through activities, guided reading, exercises and conversation. I focused on ensuring each student was progressing and was capable of identifying specific areas to improve. I have also taught in summer camps as a language coach, which involved teaching through sports and activities. The breadth of my experience means that I am capable of teaching different age groups and different levels.

In terms of my classes online, I am offering personalized classes that are designed based on the goals you wish to achieve, whether that be preparing to live abroad, passing an official exam or doing an interview in English. Above all, I prioritise speaking English naturally and comfortably. I use a range of resources such as videos, photos and exercises in listening and comprehension.

Learning from a native speaker is truly the best way to maximise your potential with a language. It will ensure you are truly immersed in the language throughout the class in terms of the accent, the style, and typical phrases.

I am offering 1:1 classes at €15/p hour. If there is more than one student, I will adapt the price. I an available to give classes that are on a continuous basis, perhaps once a week, or one a one-off basis if you require specific short team preparation. I can also offer fees for correcting work outside class time.
