I’m Liz and I’ve been teaching English as a second language for 10 years now. I’m from England, so I’m a native speaker.
I’m CELTA qualified, which is the Cambridge English Language Teaching to Adults certification, and I graduated from Leeds University where I studied a modern languages Spanish and Italian degree. I think that having studied foreign languages myself helps me to understand the challenges that language learners face. I also speak Spanish fluently.
I have taught group classes, 1 to 1s, in person and online, adults and children, both general English and business English, from Elementary level right up to Proficiency level and everything inbetween!
My professional background also enables me to add value to business English classes. I worked in London for multinational companies, in a range of fields, from finance to marketing communications, and in the travel industry. This experience means that I can better help my students develop the communication skills, language and vocabulary used in the workplace and across a broad range of topics.
Whatever your reason for studying English, I’ll adapt my classes to your needs and interests. Whether you want to be able to hold a conversation confidently, improve your grammar and understand it better, or simply recall English that you’ve learned in the past, I can help you to get there. And have fun along the way! I promise to make my classes enjoyable, interesting and engaging! The more you enjoy, the more you learn.
My goal is to help you gain confidence in your English, to remove any blocks that may be holding you back and guide you to speaking the language more fluently, clearly, and confidently. We will get there through regular practice and engaging material that interests you!
