In my lessons, students are an active and creative part of the class. My classes are dynamic and my students participate using actively what they are learning. As for my teaching methodology, I use different methods, such as TPR, audiolingualism, direct method, grammar-translation and communicative language method.
Total Physical Response (TPR) is a method of teaching language or vocabulary concepts by using physical movement to react to verbal input. The process mimics the way that infants learn their first language, and it reduces student inhibitions and lowers stress.
Audiolingualism is based on behaviorist theory, with positive feedback when correct responses are provided. The instructor presents correct models that the students must repeat. The teacher then continues presenting new vocabulary in structures already seen.
The direct method used with more advance students refrains from using the learners' native language and uses only the target language. This method is based on the idea that the learner should experience the new language in the same way they experienced their mother tongue.
I personally do not use much the grammar-translation method, but I do sometimes teach grammar using this method to apply the grammar rules by indirectly translating sentences into the target language.
I mostly use the communicative language method, in which interaction is emphasized as both the means and the ultimate goal of study. Learners converse in different environments talking about their personal experiences to improve language skills in all types of situations. The goal is to develop verbal and listening skills prior to reading and writing.
