English - Use it or Lose it, let me help you to succeed

Hi I’m Richard, from Scottland, a qualified English teacher and experienced professional. I have been teaching English in Barcelona for 15 years and have taught in many companies throughout the city. I have also taught one-to-one classes with students who needed extra tuition to enable them to prepare for exams.

My previous experience teaching exams include the First Certificate and the Cambridge Advanced exam. There are many ways to prepare for an exam but one way is simply to do the exam many times as this gives the student invaluable study in the actual exam and not just doing different exercises connected to the task in hand.

For company classes I use many different resources as in each situation the student has his/her own needs. For example, if they require help with presentations then we can do the presentation in class by working together to create a worthwhile slideshow.

There are many other ways to increase and improve your knowledge of the target language in class. One method is role-play, this is extremely useful if a student needs to be more confident in using English at work and can give them realistic practise to help overcome any fears that they had in the past.

Finally, I find that most students are competitive and this is another area that we can work as a team in building relationships and improving the participants level by playing games where we can interact in a fun environment.
