As a CELTA graduate, and a dual citizen of the United Kingdom and United States, I am seeking employment as an English teacher in Spain in a professional environment with motivated students. During the last year, I have had experience teaching every level from young children (6 years old) to adults, as well as with Cambridge exams. Teaching English in Spain has been a worthwhile and rewarding experience. I have enjoyed the daily challenge of creating engaging lessons so that my students develop proficiency as well as a positive relationship to the language. My secondary school Spanish teachers used a cultural engagement model in order to engage their students. I have adopted this approach as well because I know firsthand that this creative method ultimately inspired a less than enthusiastic language student. I am eternally grateful for my teachers’ persistent efforts. I try to bring that tireless work ethic to my classroom. I have enjoyed my time at my current employer but I would like to experience life in a different part of Spain. I would like to improve my fluency in Spanish and potentially make Spain my permanent home. My attached resume further details my academic credentials and extracurricular interests.
