Caty is a brilliant teacher and has vastly improved my Spanish in just 6 months. The most important thing she has done for me is actually get me speaking in Spanish and communicating, and the grammar i've been introduced to has helped me hugely. Caty is obviously a very experienced teacher and her high level of English is sometimes helpful when you need something explaining / translating a little more! She is definitely a teacher who will push you to do your best, and I am very grateful for the acceleration I've felt with her! :)

We have been having classes with Caty for several years. Her teaching style suits us perfectly in that she works through conversational Spanish, introducing new concepts naturally as they come up. She is also very flexible and happy to focus on specific points of grammar as needed. Although everything is done in Spanish, Caty speaks excellent English so if you really get stuck there is always the fallback of explaining in English! Equally as important, Caty is friendly and relaxed. She is also the most punctual Spanish person I know! I would highly recommend Caty.

In 2 words a great teacher! Languages are not my strongest skills so I needed a teacher that has a lot of patience and is flexible and creative in her didactics. Caty definitely is! One of the things I really appreciated is that she frequently asked for feedback regarding the classes: if we were still on the correct path and or if another approach or something else was needed. I honestly believe that her approach made it for me easier to learn the language. Last but not least learning should be also fun and the classes were for sure. I could be myself and there was always space for a laugh. I was searching for some “critical” notes but couldn’t find them. I had 2 and a half year classes from Cathy and look forward picking it up again!

Caty es la mejor profesora que he tenido. Tiene mucha paciencia, y me gusta mucho como hace sus clases. Está contenta venir a mi casa para darme las clases y siempre es muy puntual. Ella me deja hablar sin interrumpirme para corregirme todo el tiempo, de modo que la conversación pueda fluir bien, pero escribe los errores y me habla sobre ellos después. Luego me da los errores para corregir como los deberes, y así los recuerdo y aprendo más. Conoce bien mi nivel y elige con cuidado qué es lo más importante a corregir. Definitivamente recomendaría que elijas a Caty como maestra!

Caty is an amazing teacher; she is truly the best language teacher I have ever had. As all great teachers do, Caty combines an incredible knowledge of what she is teaching with an amazing passion and ability for explaining it. While other teachers simply use textbooks, Caty’s approach is instead focused on and adapted to you. She gets you to talk and explain things and then - based on what she has learnt from this - provides you with feedback and exercises that are tailored to you as an individual. Caty’s approach to homework perfectly encapsulates what makes her such a special teacher. While you are talking in the class, she isn’t just sitting there but is instead taking notes of your errors. In her own time she then goes through these errors - which given all my mistakes must take an age - and carefully selects areas you need to work on. Your homework for the next class is then to correct these mistakes. Put simply, Caty is a wonderful teacher who will work hard to help you improve.

Spanish classes with Caty have been a fantastic learning journey. Rather than working through a textbook regardless of learning needs and level, which has been my experience with past teachers, she personalises lessons to suit what the student needs and the level that they are at. She addresses mistakes and helps you progress at the pace and level you need. The class involves a lot of speaking which is extremely helpful and allows you to iron out problems with tenses, vocabulary and expression. I would highly recommend Caty to anyone if any level who want to learn or improve their Spanish.

Caty es la mejor profesora de español que he tenido. La recomendaría a cualquiera que quiera mejorar su nivel de castellano, independientemente de cuál sea su nivel. Normalmente comienza la clase con una conversación sobre un tema general y hace notas acerca tus errores. Después de la clase te manda las frases con los errores gramaticales: es una buena forma de aprender de tus propios errores. Usa una amplia variedad de material, así que las clases no son muy divertidas.

Caty me cae muy bien como profesora y como persona. Prepara muy bien el tema / la gramática que quiero aprender. Me hace hablar mucho, así practico y ella apunta los errores que hago. Me los manda por correo para que los corrija como también deberes sobre lo que estoy aprendiendo. Como suelo hacer los mismos errores, poco a poco los elimino. Sabe muy bien inglés y de vez en cuando me dice alguna palabra en inglés, si no entiendo. Seguro que me hará corregir los errores de este texto.
