I have a degree in Financial Wealth Management & a recognized TEFL qualification as well as certification in TEYL, Business English and Online Teaching. I have been a Corporate English Trainer for the last year (exclusively online) on a 1:1 basis and in groups up to 6 people per group, with great success. I have also for the past 3 years been involved in training groups of adults (15-30 students) in the various aspects of Customer Relations, Sales and Contract Negotiations.
I have been homeschooling my children from the beginning using the Cambridge Curriculum, they have just completed stage 4. My one daughter is on the spectrum for Autism and I have been home-schooling her and my other daughter (who is dyslexic) from the beginning of their school career. I understand the challenges involved in this and the patience it requires to help a child that has such an obstacle on her learning journey. I also speak South African Sign Language and have spent years helping in the deaf community with educational work.
I have taught other children online ranging from ages using my own lesson plans to teach them English as a Foreign Language and even though it is a completely different experience compared to teaching adults, you are still helping them with their confidence. There is a great sense of accomplishment when you see the light go on in their eyes when something finally makes sense and they can use what they have learnt with confidence.
I am a driven and focused person that likes to tackle challenges and tasks assigned to me. I also have a fun and creative side that helps me to relate to others and to put them at ease. I am also intent on making sure that I help the people around me achieve their best and reach their potential. This translates whether I am dealing with clients, colleagues or students.
It has always been my passion to help people to achieve their goals and I have discovered through teaching and training; I am able to help children and adults to achieve theirs. With my many years’ experience in the business world, I can use this to coach the students to achieve their goals as well.
