Dear Sir/Madam,

This is my eighteenth year as an ESL teacher and ESL head of department at schools and my ninth year as summer school ESL teacher and director of studies. In my career, I have acquired experience at international schools in Spain, China, the United Kingdom, and at state schools in the United States.

In my MA studies at Greensboro College I designed and conducted two action research studies. In the first one, I compared students’ language proficiency gains in exercises and tasks in second language learning. In the second one, I compared students’ motivation in exercises and tasks. The objective of my action research study was to find effective ways of teaching English as a second language.
