Over the years, I have acquired demonstrable skills in the teaching of English to second language learners. I prepare lesson plans always considering the interconnection between the student’s own knowledge and learning abilitiesa. I choose content and activities that are interesting for the students so that they are stimulated to think “beyond” their comfort zone and feel involved in their own learning process. Furthermore, the activities and class discussions I facilitate encourage students to make connections between English language learning and other disciplines. Though I use communication language teaching (CLT) methodology, collaborative and interactive learning has mostly been the focal point in my teaching philosophy in order to promote reflective thinking and enhance student´s appreciation of the subject. My passion, commitment and approach to teaching have been rewarded with high teaching evaluations a teacher can receive, I was consistently among the top 5% of all English teachers in my former school.
