Justine Demirkol

I bring enthusiasm, energy, ideas and 10 years of creative media experience to the classroom to enhance learning and create a fun, stimulating and positive learning environment. Through the Cambridge CELTA teaching certification, I learned to tailor my teaching methods to provide unique lessons that are both engaging and motivating for students of all ages.

My professional background is varied artistically and technically. I hold a Bachelor's degree in broadcast communications with honors from State University of New York, where I also studied creative theater arts. For the last decade, I have developed a dynamic resume of experience, gaining a wealth of knowledge in teaching, creative media and the arts. I worked at multiple commercial TV and radio outlets and advertising agencies in New York as a production assistant, producer, editor, copywriter, director and photographer, and voice over talent.

Before I focused in media, I worked and volunteered as an adult leader for the YMCA and Boy Scouts of America. I helped organize multiple workshops for kids and adults on outdoor leadership skills, arts and crafts, orienteering and corporate team building. I also managed cub scout's advancement programs for two summers at Cub Scout Adventure Camp operated by the Boy Scouts of America, Finger Lakes council of New York. These hands-on learning and teaching experiences were the stepping stones to a professional career in teaching English as a second language today.
