Katie

Hi! My name is Katie. I have lived in Spain for 4 years now and given private classes for 4 years, too. I am a positive, friendly, and patient teacher. I typically work with primary aged students, which I love, but I am looking forward to expanding my teaching to all ages! In my free time, I like to read, do art, and spend time with my pet guinea pig.

I have been teaching for 5 years, with 1 year of teaching in the United States for my teaching credential. I can teach all aspects of English, from grammar, to pronunciation, reading, literature, writing, or subjects in English, as well. I want to teach you what you want to learn. I believe each student has their own knowledge that is more than just a level, such as "A2" and because of that, I spend time learning what ,my students know and thinking deeply about how I can help my students improve.

I speak in English during class, but if there is a connection that can be made between Spanish and English, I will use my Spanish knowledge to help demonstrate it. I believe immersion is the best method of teaching and that communication is more than just language.

My degrees/certifications are: Bachelor's Degree in English Literature, Master's Degree in Bilingual Education, Multi-Subject Teaching Credential, and TEFL Certificate. These combined give me lots of knowledge about the English language and how to teach it in a way that is best for each of my students.
