As per me, classes should be as per the requirement of the individual student. I would love to create customised classes as per the student. If any student is starting the course from scratch, I am presenting you a sample.
Lesson goals: By the end of this lesson, students should know the alphabet, spell their names, introduce themselves, identify colours, days of the week, and say goodbye (see you on….)
Level: Absolute Beginner – Alphabet, colours, hello (introductions), spelling your name, and goodbyes.

1. Listen and answer. Use your name.
Ask a number of students (in smaller groups, you can ask all students) what their names are, introduce yourself and welcome students to the class.

Teacher: Hello, what’s your name? Student: My name is ____________.
Teacher: I’m ______________. Welcome to the class! Student: Thank you.

2. The alphabet. Listen and repeat.

Say each letter and ask the students to repeat. Alternatively, sing a song, to make it more fun. Once you have made sure that students are already familiar with the English alphabet, you can encourage them to work in pairs and spell/ pronounce their names to their partner. (This is especially useful if students do not know each other.)

3. Introducing colours

If you choose: Spell either one colour per student or several letters per student and let them write on the board as you spell the colours black, white, yellow, green, red, grey, blue (in whatever order). Then move on to the next activity.

4. Match the colours with the words.
Now that students can see the words on the board, they can easily match them to the colours in this exercise. In addition, spell and pronounce the colours together.

5. Look at the pictures. Write the colours you see.
6. Introducing days of the week and name of months
Find the words from the box in the puzzle below.
A word puzzle. The days of the week are put in order in the box below. Students must find them in the puzzle horizontally, vertically, and diagonally.

Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday | Friday | Saturday | Sunday

7. Put the days of the week in order.
The days of the week in the box below are not in the right order. Letting student remember information from the previous exercise, ask them to put the days of the week in order.

Friday | Thursday | Tuesday | Saturday | Monday | Wednesday | Sunday
