My name is Davinia Longo, age 24, from Malta (prefix +356) and recently visited Madrid and I'm currently looking for a job there as I wish to stay in Spain for a long period of time.
I will be moving to Madrid in the beginning of January and I was hoping to find a job related to teaching, specifically teaching English as a foreign language. I've been working in this line of profession for about 3 years now. I received my CELTA certificate in May - and worked in two different language schools since. I've taught students ranging from the ages of 5 years to over 60 year old and their levels varied from beginner all the way to advanced and catered for IELS examination courses and business class as well. I also did administration work during the quiet months in our establishment which involved organising paperwork, testing and interviewing students for level placement, distribution of books and dealing with clients queries. I had also gone for an internship to China in summer - , mainly teaching young learners as well as teenagers to improve and practice their English. The internship with AIESEC lasted about 3months. I also studied for 3 years at the university of Malta and achieved a diploma in bachelor of education in primary teaching, in which I also had the opportunity to teach young children for 2 months as our course involved a teaching practice which also included preparation of separate individual lessons for students requiring further innovative lessons due to any particular learning disabilities (such as dyslexics and autistics)
I am interested in applying as an English teacher in a language school as well as a primary or secondary school. I consider myself quite an experienced teacher, with innovative methods of teaching after all these years of practice, and I am very dedicated to the job. I'm also very organised and confident when facing a class and am able to adapt lessons according to the student's needs and expectations. I'm also quite flexible when it comes to work schedules and work well under pressure.
I look forward to working and teaching in Madrid as this will undoubtedly be yet another great opportunity I wish to experience in which I will get to meet many interesting people.
