While working for the Trinity School in Rome, Italy, I fell in love with teaching the English language. Since then, I have acquired a master’s degree in education and a teaching license from Lehigh University in the United States. I have now been teaching for over 6 years.
I teach based on the student's needs and desires. From these needs and desires, I create a unique lesson scope and sequence. I also teach using task-based learning. This method ensures language learners will be able to use the language and associate phrases and vocabulary with certain situations. For example, teaching through situations like going to the supermarket or going on a date. Each task-based unit will have a specific vocabulary, idiom, and phrase list.
Below are examples of my overall value as an educator exemplified in my experience as a student and a teacher.
- Understands and acknowledges the difficulties of learning a new language as both a student and an educator.
- Exhibited strong academic performance throughout my four years as an English major to achieve a Bachelor's degree and 2 years as an Education major to achieve a Master's degree.
- Created individualized content and curriculum based on the needs and desires of multiple students while working as an English-language teacher in Rome, Italy.
- Possesses a passion for the English language and thoroughly enjoys teaching students its quirks and intricacies.
