From my experience I can say that the best way to succeed for a student who wants to get ,say the First certificate, is to practise the kind of questions that this examination includes as much as possible, systematise them and control the time required for each part. At the beginning, students will be guided step by step in the fullfilment of their tasks,then asked to write down everything they have learnt out of them and encouraged to do tasks on their own at home. The idea is to make students improve the vocabulary and the use of grammar rules as well provided by the tests samples that they will be doing.
