I've worked as an English Coach online since 2015. My sessions have always been fully in English because I deal with students from all over the world. I would consider using Spanish, though, with Spanish speakers if needed even though I would rather not to, if possible.

I focus on speaking skills and listening comprehension skills.

Speaking skills: Understanding pronunciation(single words & word interaction) and the building blocks of speech, namely, intonation, rhythm & flow. The goal is to have students read aloud and sound correctly.

Listening comprehnsion skills: The goal is to have students engage in dictation from videos out of "real" situations which could be news, interview, documentary or a sitcom. It's challenging but it's great practice.

This for the long haul. It takes time and perseverance. The majority of students start experimenting significant improvement two years in. But that's just the beginning. Although it also depends on the student.


Llevo trabajando como "English Coach" desde 2015

Mis clases son exclusivamente en ingles, porque interactuo con estudiantes de todo el mundo. Aunque como bilingüe puedo usar español para estudiantes exclusivamente hispanohablantes, aunque, dependiendo del nivel, prefiero minimizarlo (si es posible) para el beneficio del estudiante.

Mi foco es principalmente "Speaking" y "Listening". Con "Speaking" pretendo que el estudiante lea en ingles en voz alta y que suene bien. Unos de los objetivos es reducir el acento. Con "Listening" el estudiante podria ser "sometido" a <'dictation'> que se trata de escuchar a nativos en situaciones 'reales' y escrbir lo que se dice. Es un ejercicio duro pero muy beneficioso.

Es un proceso pensado para el largo plazo. Requiere tiempo, constancia, perseverancia. La inmensa mayoria de los estudiantes (internacionales) experimentan una notable mejora al cabo de dos años, pero es "solo el principio"
