Rachel Clarke

I take a communicative approach to language teaching and enjoy teaching students of all ages and abilities. If the lessons involve children, I also employ play-based learning techniques and introduce critical thinking skills through various types of project work.

I terms of qualifications, I have a CELTA and a TYLEC (Teaching Young Learners Extension Certificate) along with a PGCE (Post Graduate certificate in Education) in English Literature and Language. Most recently, I completed my MSc in TESOL at Edinburgh University where i graduated with distinction. I have over 15 years' experience in classrooms all over the world including Taiwan, Vietnam and England.

I specialise in teaching texts across boarders which means utilising different forms of multimedia in my lessons including stories, songs, poems and videos. This enhances learning by creating curiosity and engagement with the topic.

I am opened-minded, professional and easy-going. I want my students to feel comfortable making mistakes and enjoy the process of learning another language.
