Rachel Hawthorne

I am a motivated, prepared and creative individual who would like to provide private lessons. I recently worked in Nagoya, Japan as a full time teacher for children, ages 1 to 14. I also taught individual and groups of adults in a business setting. I am interested in teaching any proficiency level and age group as I have had experience working with all groups.

I believe a successful teacher is someone who enjoys empowering students, is patient, concise and willing to put in the extra effort for students with special learning needs. I will bring to the classroom an engaging and fun atmosphere which promotes stress-free learning. In my time spent training others, I have learned that comprehension occurs when the information presented is applicable to the learner and is engaging. I use all resources available to me to create engaging, relevant and rewarding learning experiences.
