I am a native English speaker from the United States, and I also speak Spanish and Italian at an intermediate level. I earned my CELTA at International House Dublin, an accredited program through the University of Cambridge. I am trained to teach students of all levels as well as business English and exam preparation. I have a Master of Education (MAEd) and have worked in the field since 2004, where I have enjoyed teaching students of all ages, including children, teens and adults.
I consider myself to be an ‘out of the box’ thinker and teacher. I strongly believe in addressing the whole student on the intellectual as well as emotional and empathetic level. I have a very interactive approach with my teaching, where I encourage my students to learn through engagement in various methodologies, such as TPR, games, music, articles/texts, images, etc. I believe this helps my students to feel enabled to contextualize their learning process and develop their language skills through practice and connection to real life situations.
I am creative, innovative, flexible, open-minded, and a collaborative team worker with strong interpersonal skills. I am dedicated to the mission of education and advocacy, where I strive to inspire, encourage and assist my students to work towards their fullest potential by helping them develop the lifelong skill of learning.
