Sara Kessel

My name is Sara. I am from the United States, where I've lived all of my life. I am available every day after 13:30 in the afternoon & evenings. I have experience working with kids of all ages, as well as adults as a part of my CELTA certification. I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Education, two passions of mine that gave me a good idea of what I can bring to my role as an English. My experiences include working in a preschool, assisting at a language academy, leading groups at a summer camp, and some non-profit work relating to voter education in the US. I enjoy a non-traditional teaching approach, with classes prioritizing enjoyment of the language as well as comprehension. I believe cultivating motivation is the most important factor in the language learning process, and this cannot solely be done with route memorization or routine practice sheets. I also prefer to create my own activities and lesson plans when I can, but I also will use what I've learned in my certification as the building blocks to do this. With students, I want them to feel like they are getting the most out of their classes. I am there as a resource, and also as a peer. I know from my own experiences learning a new language that the process can be difficult, and I prioritize making my students feel like they are making progress towards their language learning goals.
