I am a highly motivated and enthusiastic teacher who is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment for my students. I am open-minded and creative, and I possess strong interpersonal and analytical skills, which enable me to adapt my teaching methods to suit the individual needs of each student. I believe in fostering collaboration and promoting social skills among students to enhance their learning experience.
I recently completed a TEFL certification course at TEFL Toulouse, where I gained valuable knowledge, skills and experience to effectively teach English to non-native speakers. The course covered various topics, such as English grammar, teaching methods, and different learning styles. The 4-week intensive course included 60 hours of contact time with trainers and 6 hours of observed teaching practice with students of different levels and ages. This experience has equipped me with the necessary tools to create and teach engaging and effective lesson plans.
In addition to my TEFL certification, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Athabasca University. This background has provided me with valuable insights into understanding individuals from different cultural backgrounds and adapting my teaching approach accordingly. As a bilingual French/English speaker, it helps me communicate and relate with children of a diverse array of backgrounds.
I obtained experience working as a part-time English Teacher at LA Education, English Language Centre. During this time, I taught English classes to students of various age groups. I also worked at a Chinese public school, where I engaged students using PowerPoint presentations, questions, and interactive games. These experiences have developed my skills in communication, lesson planning, and working with children. Furthermore, my responsibilities included assessing student progress, communicating with parents and administrators, creating a culturally sensitive learning environment, and providing individual attention to students.
