My name is Julia Brütting, native German, I am 38 years old and I am a German state-approved translator with a major in French and minors in English and Spanish. In order to obtain further certification for my minor language, I participated in the Cambridge English Assessment C2 in June 2021 and passed with “Grade A“.

Learning and teaching languages is one of my greatest passions in life. I consider them a bridge between people from different cultures and backgrounds. I have spent many years in English speaking places such as London, Seattle and New Hampshire before I made my way back to my hometown Nuremberg via Sofia, Bulgaria and Bogotá, Colombia. Since then, I have been working as a self-employed language teacher and tutor as well as a translator and bilingual wedding celebrant. I pursued these various types of occupation in the previously mentioned places as well. Overall, I have almost 20 years of teaching experience and about four years of teaching online.

My approach to teaching is to make the language as tangible as possible and to integrate conversation whenever I can. While I believe grammar and vocabulary is extremely important, I also believe putting the theory into practice is the way forward. I have also been integrating the subject of cultural competency into my classes and with that I have been able to help especially companies to improve their work with international clients.
