I am energetic, enthusiastic and provide lots of fun and laughter in my lessons, as I have found that humour can help my students to relax and feel more confident in their learning.
I am a Religions and Theology graduate from the School of Arts, Languages and Cultures at the University of Manchester, specialising in Art, Women and Gender in Religion alongside Jewish Philosophy and Ethics and Holocaust Theology.
Alongside this BA degree, I have a TQUK, Teaching English as a Foreign Language. This Level 5 Qualification was achieved through 168 hours of training and extensive hours of facilitating practice lessons for a variety of learners. The students ranging from 8-40 years old, with all levels of language proficiency from A1 to C2.
Prior to my undergraduate degree and TEFL training, I completed 4 A-Levels in Philosophy and Ethics, Business Studies, Fine Art and English Literature. As someone who has benefited from tutoring in the past, I know how helpful a friendly and consistent face can be to help you improve in the areas you find challenging for upcoming exams or essay writing. My business studies tutor, who supported me twice a week in preparing for my final exams, was a significant figure in my progression (I went from a C to an A) !!
Exam technique is the key to success and a top grade is imbedded in my tutoring style. I understand that a high performance level is about understanding what the question is asking of you, and that practice makes perfect. I provide well structured and planned lessons, with an aim to help students improve their skills by identifying what they need to work on; providing clear examples to explain processes step-by-step, and using lots of practice questions!
