I want my lessons to be fun and interactive as well as challenging, if it is asked for. I usually like to start with getting to know a potential student and see what they want to work on and what needs to be improved. In that way lesson plans are more personalised and are not repetitive. I like using fun websites with the students I assist as well as worksheets and interactive presentations using google drive tools. I try to make lessons personal and make a connection with the students that I teach in order to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and learning is fun and engaging. I also like to include my students when creating a lesson plan. As in letting them come up with the topic or being the one who leads conversations and opens the lessons up to be more fulfilling because the student is feels like they are not just being taught at but that they are actually a part of the lesson. Currently, I have been at a secondary school for the last few months working with older students from the ages 12-17 on their English comprehension and conversational skills, as well as teaching them about culture in the United States of America. At the school I work with both English and History courses. Before this, I worked for 6 months with two young Austrian girls one aged 5 and the other 8 on their conversation and confidence in speaking and grammar skills.
