Yasmina Akar

My experience abroad has led me, along with my studies, to give me a deeper understanding of the situation and to be open to different cultures, perspectives, and opinions about what is happening today.

I have experience in teaching as I have always been exposed to languages being born in a country like Lebanon. I have traveled a lot and I realized how much learning languages is an asset for myself and for others who I meet. I enjoy it and I focus mainly on what my students want. I like conversational language rather than a strong focus on grammar. I try to tackle all sides of a language and I simply enjoy it and do my best for my students to increase and build their confidence and enjoy their time learning as well!

My knowledge of Arabic, French, and English has helped me communicate better and expand my research in other regions and politics, even outside the MENA region. I also study Russian; Romanian and Spanish. The more languages, the better.

I gave French lessons online with the Berlitz company, based in Turkey in Istanbul. I provided lessons to all levels, from 6-year-olds to 45. I liked teaching a lot and discovered how rich this field is. I also gave some lessons in my past workshops working for the LOYAC organization as mentioned above, or for the power of diversity program in Tbilisi. I am also now exposed to teaching every day in the British Council. I hope you all enjoy taking a class with me and I promise to help you out !
